Registration

Registration:

Registration opens 1-3 weeks before the event.  There will be a spot for everyone who wishes to register and it will not sell out.

We close registration 15 minutes before the race starts for those who decide day-of to participate, though we strongly encourage early registration to ease administrative burdens.  ​

Race bib pickup and in-person registration

While you have the option to pick-up your bib and register in-person on race day, we strongly prefer that you do both in advance by meeting us the day before at the firehall, 4-6PM outside the main firehall (1847 Savary Island Road). Contact us if you want to pick it up in Patricia Crescent instead.

Pricing

Registration for people who are not Triathlon BC members (day membership fee is included in price):

Individual competitor aged 19+:  $30

Individual competitor under age 19: $20

Relay competitors all ages: $20 per person on the team

Starting in 2024 we are introducing an extra charge for people who register on race day. We hope that you will consider registering in advance instead. Day-of registration charge: $5 extra per person

Registration for current Triathlon BC members:

Individual competitors all ages:  $14.50

Relay competitors aged 19+: $9.50 per person on the team

Day-of registration charge: $5 extra per person

The Savary Island Fun Triathlon Society is a registered non-profit, donating proceeds to the Savary Island Fire Department and First Responders each year for uses not covered by Regional District funding such as buying an AED (automated external defribrillator).  

Competitor Categories: 

Competitive and recreational:

• Competitive: the swimmer intends to swim the entire distance

• Recreational: the swimmer also has the option of walking waist-deep in the water or wearing flippers.

  • This is a unique feature of our event which demonstrates our principle of inclusion! More than half of the participants choose to participate in this Category.

Teams and Individuals: 

• Relay teams are comprised of 2 or more entrants, and there is no minimum age. See Event Details page for age-distance regulations information for participants under 16.

• Individuals complete the race on their own. Minimum age is 10. See Event Details page for age-distance regulations information for participants under 16.
